Denver to the Smoky Mountains

Every year we try to make it to at least one national conference focusing on the new tax laws & regulations and updates in the agricultural world. This year we were fortunate enough to attend two conferences.

Back in May, Tim and Lisa attended the Agriculture Conference that was hosted by the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) in Denver, CO. We flew into Denver late Tuesday night and after a questionable train ride we arrived at our hotel safely. Our class was held Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, where we freshened up our knowledge in the ag tax department. After our days of learning, we hit up a few local restaurants to enjoy for dinner. It is always nice to branch out and try new foods from the locals while traveling. We ended our trip with a more enjoyable train ride back to the airport!

T. L. Baker & Co. Team

In June, some of our BakerStarrett team members attended the Agribusiness Tax Advisors Education Summit in Cullowhee, NC. We were able to fly into Atlanta and drive into the Smoky Mountains for some beautiful scenery. Here we enjoyed a two day tax conference at the Western Carolina University campus. The first evening we were able to do some sightseeing which included a mini hike. Then we enjoyed a local pizza joint and some live music. The second evening we spent a relaxing night back in Gainesville, GA with Tim’s sister on a boat ride on Lake Lanier before heading home the next day.

Attending these annual ag conferences and getting out of the office for a few days is always refreshing and by doing so, we are able to keep our knowledge up to date, therefore, providing our farmers with the latest & best tax advice possible!
