Social Security and Stimulus Checks

When Economic Impact Payments, aka Stimulus Payment, first came about, it was stated that they would use your 2018 and 2019 tax return information to figure out if you are eligible.  What happens if you did not have to file because you are on Social Security and limited pension or retirement?  Originally, it stated that you needed to file a simple return to be eligible for this stimulus.  Well, we have good news.

It has come to our attention that Social Security Recipients no longer need to file a simple tax return in order to receive the stimulus payment.  This requirement was recently removed from the IRS information page.  Here is a link to the IRS Economic impact payments Information page to keep you up-to-date: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/economic-impact-payments-what-you-need-to-know
